The first branch weave began back in 2014, I was thinking of how to build a large nest. I had some stone, a metal frame and a base. I wanted to create a column and then build the weave around it. I got all the branches from trees on the property, which were the end product of some needed pruning and instead of taking the branches to the landfill to be reused in the yard waste, I found a way to create something with them. I have slowly added to the weave and along the way it has grown. Each tree on the property has now contributed to the current state of the weave and with a few more years it should be done.

The Second weave began as I had some left over branches from pruning and wanted to see if I could build something new. I started with a hole which is an old watering tub and as I build up, I want to see if I can create a curled section at the top that can hold a mirror or some kind of translucent material.

The Third weave has come from the barb wire that used to be along the fence line. I could have just mashed down the wire and taken it to the metal recycle station, but I thought this would be a better option as this wire has been on the property for years so why not give it a chance to have another life. I will continue to build on this as I update the fencing along the rest of the property so this one will be a slow one to grow.
