A Rock above the Rest

I recently visited Marenakos Rock Center and was blown away by the selection of stones that are just waiting for the right home. Hard to walk through all the aisles of stone thinking about how each stone could be used to create an artistic expression.

While out walking through the stone yard I was able to connect with Bart who operates the machinery used to move these large stones. It was great to talk about where the stones came from and how they are loaded and moved around. After walking around, I went into the showroom where they have examples of all the materials and a store where you can purchase stone working supplies. I was lucky to meet Mark who helped me to purchase a stone chisel and drilling bit. I have to thank Mark again as he was very patient while I asked many questions about each tool. This was my first time purchasing these types of tools but am sure it will not be the last.

Should you ever want to take a drive out to the mountains and are along I-5 I suggest a stop and walk through this amazing setting of Stone.
